Record Numbers Attend Universities and Colleges

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — From Springfield to Kirksville, from Maryville to Cape Girardeau, more students than ever before are crowding Missouri college and university campuses.
Monday was the first day of classes at many of the state’s four-year institutions, and most report record enrollments, led by freshman classes that are the highest ever.
