When it comes to restarting the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station, top officials with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission tell Nebraska Watchdog (see interview below) that OPPD has ”a lot of work ahead.”
During a sometimes stormy public meeting between the NRC and OPPD last week the NRC said it is still waiting to see OPPD’s detailed plans to restart the plant which has been shutdown since April.
In addition Nebraska Watchdog has learned Fort Calhoun is the first plant in ten years to receive this level of scrutiny from the NRC.
Nebraska Watchdog spoke with the NRC’s Troy Pruett.
