Initial results have Congressman Lee Terry leading in the Second District race with 59 percent of the vote, followed by Brett Lindstrom with 23 percent, Jack Heidel with 12 percent and Glenn Freeman with 4 percent. Check back with Nebraska Watchdog for updates throughtout the night.
It appears that the future of Omaha’s Congressional seat—held by Republican Lee Terry — is in the hands of just a handful of voters. As Nebraska Watchdog’s Joe Jordan reports election officials expect that eight out of ten registered voters in Douglas County are staying home today—and didn’t bother to cast an early ballot either.

Continue reading …LINCOLN — A parade of people, ministers, gay people and one transgendered woman told the Lincoln City Council today why they should or should not pass an anti-discrimination ordinance based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
